Knorr Brake Corporation was established in 1973 by Knorr-Bremse, AG as a distributor to serve the growing Mass Transit passenger rail market in North America.
The company began its operations in Rockville, Maryland. The business grew steadily and in 1991, to accommodate the growing business, the company moved to a much larger facility in Westminster, Maryland where it’s Headquarters and manufacturing operations are located today. In addition to the Westminster facility, the company has locations in Union City, California and Mt. Vernon, New York.
The company supplies braking systems, passenger doors and air conditioning equipment for all types of Mass Transit rail vehicles, including Metro, Light Rail, High-Speed Trains, Commuter Rail and Monorail, to name a few.
